Congratulations to the winning applicants of the 2019 Scholarship: Alisha Macas, employee of Midtown Athletic Club and student of Downers Grove South High School and Alexis Printz, affiliated with SEASPAR and student of Downers Grove North High School. With twenty applications, selecting recipients was no simple task. All of the applicants went above and beyond their required course work by devoting many hours to their extra-curricular activities including school sponsored activities, community and volunteer, as well as paid work experiences.
Both winning students have gone above all expectations for community and school involvement, from volunteering at DuPagePads shelters to West Suburban Community Pantry and tutoring, peer mentoring, to J. Kyle Braid Foundation (elected athletic leadership club) and much, much more!
Alisha looks forward to combining her passion for biology, chemistry and athletics and major in dietetics and become a Registered Dietician. Alexis has worked with Special Abilities (SA) children, specifically in athletics. She knows that her compassion and knowledge of acclimating SA children into the community will create a very positive environment.
