House Republican Leader Jim Durkin (R-Western Springs), State Senator John Curran (R-Downers Grove) and State Rep. David Olsen (R-Downers Grove) are hosting their next Coffee and Conversation event in Darien with Mayor Kathleen Weaver to visit with constituents and discuss their thoughts about state and local issues.
The event is on Wednesday, April 4 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Blueberry Hill Breakfast Cafe in Darien. All residents are encouraged to attend and bring any questions they have for their state and local officials. Coffee, snacks and different refreshments will be provided.
“With only two months left of this year’s legislative session, it is important that we hear straight from our constituents about top issues and priorities in their communities,” said Durkin. “Only through a collaborative, bipartisan process will we be able to see real change in Illinois, and I look forward to working together in ensuring residents of our communities see their priorities addressed in Springfield.”
“Numerous residents have written in to my office about different state issues, from public safety to education, so our Coffee and Conversation event is a really nice opportunity to sit down and discuss their priorities and concerns at the state and local levels,” said Curran. “Even more advantageous, there will be four public officials in one room to answer questions. I’m looking forward to getting more input and insight from my district, so I can best represent their interests when I return to Springfield on April 10.”
“These events provide us with a valuable opportunity to meet with the people we represent in Springfield,” said Olsen. “I look forward to talking with constituents about the issues that are important to them.”
