A Play Day for Pets at Dog Days of Summer
DOWNERS GROVE—The Downers Grove Park District welcomes dog lovers to bring their four-legged friends to an end-of-the-summer dog fest! The annual Dog Days of Summer event will be held from 11 am to 3 pm on Saturday, Aug. 19 at Wandschneider Park located at 831 Maple Avenue in Downers Grove. Admission is free. For more information, visit www.dgparks.org.
Bring a picnic lunch, relax in the park and visit booths from local pet-related businesses and shelters. Dogs and their owners will enjoy a paw print station as well as a chew toy making station. Doggie pools will be set up for dogs to cool off in case the weather is warm.
The event is coordinated by Brian DeWolf, recreation supervisor at the Downers Grove Park District. “Dog Days of Summer will provide a special day just for dogs to get out and enjoy some fresh air while mingling with other pets. We hope that dog owners will find valuable information and services provided by the vendors onsite.”
Pet-related businesses will provide free giveaways and information about their services.
