Downers Grove resident Peter James, an Associate Professor of Business at College of DuPage, will present the business portion of Beans, Books, and Business to be held at the Downers Grove Public Library on Sunday, September 9, at 2:00 p.m. The program will combine three beloved topics: coffee, business startups, and Dave Egger’s recent book The Monk of Mokha.
The event will integrate both James’ experience as a business mentor with reflections on Egger’s book, the true story of a Yemeni American man who resurrects the ancient art of Yemeni coffee brewing.
“Seeing it click in the student’s mind is gratifying,” James said. “There is nothing like the active process of helping a student to launch his or her own business and strategize on how to make it a success. Teaching the process is just the icing on the cake.”
Peet’s Coffee in Downers Grove will present a tasting conducted by a Coffee Master.
