Miles on a Mission Art

This is BIG!

Watts of Love just launched a Miles on a Mission campaign with United Airlines to crowdsource 1 MILLION airline miles. Donate your extra United MileagePlus miles to Watts of Love’s Flights for Lights campaign – its super quick and easy, just click here!

We’re off to a great start, but we need YOUR help. Every mile raised means more funds can go directly to solar lights and the families who desperately need them. Our deadline is November 22. Please donate today!

Your miles will allow Watts to distribute thousands of lights in the next year to rural communities in Africa, Guatemala, Brazil and the Philippines. Saving on travel costs means more lights will go to communities living in darkness. Lives are immediately impacted when Watts of Love provides a solar light to a family in extreme poverty. More miles mean more lives changed.

Imagine living with an open flame from a kerosene lamp in the middle of your home. This is a daily reality for nearly one billion people globally. Watts of Love intentionally seeks out the poorest, hardest to reach places in the world. A solar light eliminates open flames from kerosene lamps and lessens the risk of burns or accidental poisoning. It also means more hours in the day to boost income or for children to study.

Watts of Love’s unique personal empowerment and financial literacy model teaches families to use their savings and invest in livestock or start a microbusiness. In partnership with local communities, we train local leaders to provide transformational teaching to families.

Solar light improves health, safety and education, and combats the effects of climate change. The gift of light means cleaner air and a reduction in black carbon emissions, which helps the environment and reduces global warming. Solar light provides immediate and lasting change for families and our planet.

About us

Watts of Love is a global solar lighting nonprofit bringing people the power to raise themselves out of the darkness of extreme poverty. A solar light, combined with personal empowerment training, creates a pathway to economic freedom for families in the developing world. Families often rely on expensive polluting kerosene or batteries to light their homes. Renewable solar light results in cleaner air, increased productivity, more study time and a radically different financial future.
