Modern Scandinavian meets industrial brewpub in Woodridge
Modern Scandinavian meets industrial brewpub at 6315 Main St. in west suburban Woodridge (331 998-2907). Here, in full view from counter seating, giant fermentation tanks work their magic, and, under the care of Head Brewer Nathan Tertell, 16 taps pour the freshest possible draft brews and ciders.
A diverse menu curated by Executive Chef Michael Reid goes beyond regular pub fare, with quick bites that include Scotch deviled eggs, Lager beer-battered Wisconsin white cheddar cheese curds, and a charcuterie board with chicken liver mousse and duck bacon.
For larger appetites, two styles of pizza, Neapolitan and Roman, are served with adventurous toppings, like the Ike & Oak Neapolitan with honeycomb, pickled jalapenos, soppresseta and Fool’s Gold Pilsner mustard. Salads, a grilled cheese with smoked tomato soup, and a horseshoe burger all take similar unconventional twists.
Beyond the bar, the space includes an indoor-outdoor beer hall, a game room and a patio. Ike & Oak will soon add an event space for private dining and parties.
The kitchen at Ike & Oak Brewing Co. is open Mon – Thur 5 – 10, p.m., Fri – Sat, 4 – 11 p.m. and Sun 4 – 9 p.m., while the bar stays open later.
