West Suburban Community Pantry and consumer favorite kitchenware manufacturer continue partnership to serve DuPage and Will Counties’ families in need.

DOWNERS GROVE, Ill. (November 4, 2022) – Instant Brands, maker of consumer favorites like Instant Pot®, Pyrex® and more, encourages everyone to join them in helping West Suburban Community Pantry stock its shelves this holiday season. As the Pantry responds to a 45-percent increase in the number of local families seeking food assistance last month, the need is greater than ever.

West Suburban Community Pantry provides food and resources to people facing hunger in DuPage and Will Counties. Last month, WSCP served a record-high of 726 families in one week, compared to just over 500 families weekly during 2021.

From November 3 – 10, West Suburban Community Pantry will hold its annual Harvest Week ‘Pack the Pantry’ drive, with donation drop-off sites in Naperville, Downers Grove, Woodridge, Bolingbrook and Lisle. Donations collected during Harvest Week enable WSCP to provide holiday meals to neighbors facing hunger.

The most-needed items include: canned vegetables, boxed stuffing, boxed potatoes, canned cranberry sauce, canned or instant gravy, canned soup and canned pie filling. For details on donation drop-off locations, dates and hours, visit www.wscpantry.org/harvest.

“As a growing number of people find themselves in need of food assistance, many for the first time, we are committed to helping local food pantries answer the call,” said Ben Gadbois, President and CEO of Instant Brands. “We are all connected in some way, and we are inspired by West Suburban Community Pantry’s efforts to address food insecurity, year-round.”

Through its ongoing relationship with the West Suburban Community Pantry, Instant Brands employees saw another opportunity heading into Harvest Week to help the Pantry:  providing families with air-tight, reusable container sets to store meal leftovers and keep produce fresher longer. As a result, Instant Brands donated 4,500 pieces of its Snapware® food storage solutions, which will be distributed by West Suburban Community Pantry to shoppers leading into Thanksgiving.

“We are grateful for Instant Brands’ continued partnership and their out-of-the-box solutions to help us serve families in new ways,” said WSCP Chief Executive Officer Suzanne Armato. “With the donation of Snapware products, we’re also equipping families with a tangible way to make their groceries stretch further—a gift that extends well beyond the holidays.”
