Kids can create, learn and explore with summer camps at Downers Grove Park District
DOWNERS GROVE—Downers Grove Park District offers over 50 summer camps that provide kids with fun, active experiences all summer long! Our team of experienced counselors offer safe and engaging activities including action-packed sport camps, unique specialty camps, traditional day camps and our ever-popular early childhood camps! Adventure Camp: Campers will make lasting memories with group games, sports, skits, songs, stories and swimming in addition to field trips to destinations such as Medieval Times and Brookfield Zoo. Campers grades K to 2 are hosted at the Lincoln Center located at 935 Maple Ave. Campers grades 3 to 5 are hosted at Hummer Park located at 4833 Fairview Ave. Both locations offer an extended day option with before and after camp care at the Lincoln Center.
Early Childhood Camps: Young campers will explore their world through games, activities and free play at Exploration Station and Pee Wee Camp at the Lincoln Center. Safety Town is a nationally recognized safety education program presented in partnership with the Downers Grove Police Department and Junior Woman’s Club to children ages 5 to 6 at the Recreation Center located at 4500 Belmont Rd.
Teen Camps: Teens will be on the move traveling to fun Chicagoland destinations with Teen Trekkers. Each week-long camp features three action-packed field trips from June 12 to August 18. Or, teens can learn what it takes to be a camp counselor with our hands-on Counselor in Training program.
Nature Camps: Children ages 4 to 5 can spend summer outdoors and explore habitats, learn about animals and insects or get creative with nature through seven different nature camps offered throughout the summer. Children ages 6 to 12 can delve into full-day camps featuring weekly nature themes including Wildlife Rangers, Animal Architects, Junior Beekeepers and more. Transportation to our before and after care at the Lincoln Center is also available. Nature camps are hosted at the William F Sherman, Jr. Interpretive Center at Lyman Woods located at 901 31st St.
Museum Camps: Campers will solve mysteries, explore ancient civilizations and discover art and science through week-long history at camps offered for children ages 7 to 11 at the Downers Grove Museum located at 831 Maple Ave.
Performing Arts Camps: Bring out your camper’s inner performer with choir, dance and improv camps at the Lincoln Center. Kids can learn safe stunt moves with Unarmed Stage Combat Camp.
Golf Camps: Young golfers can practice their golf swing, learn golf etiquette and develop golf techniques with summer camps at the Downers Grove Golf Club located at 2420 Haddow Ave. Golf camps are offered for ages 3 to 18.
Sports Camps: Dozens of sports camps for all ages are offered at the Recreation Center and various park locations throughout the summer. Campers will improve their play and learn new skills in baseball, basketball, dodgeball, flag football, floor hockey, lacrosse and volleyball camps. Specialty sports camps include Chicago Fire soccer camp, Chicago Bulls Basketball Camp and White Sox Summer Camp.
