Be Fit is a local business owned by a local woman, Mary Lou Savino. She is rare in that she is a licensed physical therapist assistant who owns a private practice in physical therapy. She is also a certified Pilates instructor who integrates Pilates exercise with physical therapy treatments.
A member of the community for 19 years, Mary Lou has been in business since 2008. She has succeeded where other physical therapy clinics have failed: competing against larger, better funded physician-owned groups and hospital outpatient networks.
“This event,” said Mrs. Savino (who goes by Mary Lou), “really means that the vision and mission are happening for us. For us to survive in an environment where so many private practices are having to close means that we’re really doing the right things for the community. This makes it feel like that vision of being a resource to the community is coming to life.”
