The South East Association for Special Parks And Recreation (SEASPAR) hosted its 7th annual Trivia Challenge fundraiser on Friday, October 19, 2018 at the American Legion Post 80 in Downers Grove, Ill.
A full house of 250 SEASPAR supporters, including participants, tested their trivia skills at the event, answering questions about country flags, dog breeds, holiday movies, and more, plus playing an aromatic round of “Name That Spice.”
Two teams, led by Barbara Healy of Downers Grove and Cindy Nieman of Downers Grove, tied for first place, splitting the $500 prize. A portion of the prize money and 50/50 jackpot were donated back to SEASPAR, and a silent auction and extra games generated even more giving.
The event raised nearly $8,000 to support SEASPAR’s recreational programs and services for individuals with disabilities served by the park districts of Clarendon Hills, Darien, Downers Grove, La Grange, La Grange Park, Lemont, Lisle, Westmont, and Woodridge, and the villages of Brookfield, Indian Head Park, and Western Springs.
Generous sponsors of the event included Republic Bank, City Barbeque, Nothing Bundt Cakes, Tivoli Theatre, LYNDEX NIKKEN, and Kohl’s Cares.
