The Foxtail, an independently owned restaurant in downtown Downers Grove, is pleased to announce it’s now open.
The Foxtail is a lively restaurant and bar serving brunch, lunch, dinner, craft cocktails and featuring a raw bar. It specializes in locally sourced, quality ingredients with cuisine inspired by the Mediterranean Sea and California.
The owners Tim Canning and Todd Davies have worked together for years. They first met as students at Kendall College in Chicago, and then both went on to work together at some renowned restaurants in Chicago: Mango, Rhapsody, and Mossant Bistro.
With a strong baseline for traditional French and American cooking, both took different paths out of Chicago to travel, work, and hone their skills under celebrated chefs on the east and west coasts. With half a century of experience, both chefs came back to the Midwest to join forces once again.
Their unique interpretation of regional cuisines, rooted in classic technique, is the baseline for the food and wine menu at Cadence Kitchen & Co, sister restaurant to The Foxtail. Both chefs are bringing together their love and respect for local farmers, ranchers, and artisanal foods, to create an exciting culinary experience for the town of Downers Grove.
Executive Chef Maya Nahouli grew up in Lebanon on the Mediterranean and has worked all around the world from Italy to Turkey, Lebanon, Romania and Bulgaria. Most recently she was the Executive Chef at Bar Siena in Chicago. Maya has a love of all things seafood, and her passion is to bring the foods she loved as a kid to The Foxtail.
The Foxtail will serve brunch, lunch and dinner six days a week, closed Mondays. There will also be live music several days a week.
