Dear Chairman Przepiorka and Members of the Plan Commission:
Thank you for your consideration of amendments to accommodate the proposed project located at the Northeast corner of Woodward Avenue and Boughton Road.
Chamber630 is a 700 business Member organization with a focus on the Villages of Woodridge and Downers Grove. The Legislative Platform of Chamber630 site support of a healthy business climate and economic development as two priorities. It is for this reason that I write to you in support of moving forward with the referenced project, also identified as Case Number P.17-36 or AVID, an IHG Hotel.
We applaud the work of the Village’s Community Development personnel in furthering the request of Dr. Patel to bring Woodridge its very first hotel. This upscale venture will serve the local business communities in a multitude of ways, from hiring internal vendors and employees to providing a great service to businesses within the Internationale Centre who are currently sending their guests to surrounding towns for overnight stays.
Additionally, the area is already zoned for commercial use, the project is aligned with the Village’s economic development policies of the Comprehensive Plan, it supports the local business community and furthers the Village’s tax base. The proposed site has great access as well as ready infrastructure.
Please support the staff proposal for full recommendation of amendments to Mayor Cunningham and the Board of Trustees. We look forward to positive outcomes for the Village of Woodridge. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.
