Anytime Fitness is donating meals to kids that are out of school.

Anytime Fitness is doing their part to help their local communities through these difficult times. Due to the recommendations from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and state and local government agencies, the clubs recently voluntarily closed down temporarily amid the coronavirus pandemic in effort to prevent the spread of the virus.

“The last few weeks have caused changes and disruptions in all of our lives. We recognize that there are certain actions that are necessary to help prevent the spread of this virus,” said Muayad Musleh of Anytime Fitness. “We also know that our facility and the services that we offer are important for our members and participants, and they contribute to making the community a better place,” said Musleh.

Being a club that prides itself being a supportive community to its members, Anytime Fitness decided that when they had to temporarily close, they want to do something to help those affected by the coronavirus pandemic. Together, 19 Anytime Fitness clubs including locations in Northwest Indiana: La Porte, Michigan City, Chesterton, Hobart, Merrillville (West), Merrillville (East), Lowell, Cedar Lake, Schererville, Dyer, Munster, and the following in Illinois: Frankfort, Downers Gove, Lemont, Lombard (North Street), and Schaumburg (Irving Park Rd) will each be donating 100 bags of lunches to children in their communities affected by this.

“We knew we had to do something to help those who needed our help,” said Mohammade Musleh of Anytime Fitness. “From the parents that are laid off, to the kids that are out of school, things are different right now and if we have the opportunity to help, it’s a no brainer.”

Items that will be in the lunch bags will be apples, granola bars, juice box, cereal, mac & cheese, and more.

“Within hours of closing, we had members messaging us that they miss us already,” said Musleh. “Our members are our family,” said Musleh. “All of our team gets to know our members from the first step

they take into the gym. We are texting them when they do not show up, we are getting to know them so we can get them to their goal, and we are building long lasting relationships that carry outside of the gym walls,” said Musleh.

In an effort to help keep things as normal as possible for all of the individuals we employ, we will be supporting our staff, who help us achieve our mission each day, for as long as we can during this closure. Their employees have been able to keep their hours during this uncertain time. Staff across all clubs have been deep cleaning the entire club, taking webinars and online learning, and participating in team building activities to better serve their members once the clubs doors open back up.

Lunch bags will be available for pick up on Wednesday, March 25th from the following locations:
