October is a month of homelessness awareness at the Downers Grove Public Library. There’s No Place That’s Home, a series of four events, will act as a starting point and discussion on what the community can do to help.

The Downers Grove Public Library is a place for those with nowhere else to go to have a quiet place to read, get warm, and find resources. In the month of October, the library will partner with DuPage Pads, Hope’s Front Door, the Village of Downers Grove, and other local leaders to focus on programming aimed at raising awareness about a unique Downers Grove demographic – those without homes of their own. There’s No Place That’s Home is sponsored by the Downers Grove Public Library Foundation to help promote learning more about those in our library, and community, that have no other place to go.

Throughout the month, the library is hosting four events to raise awareness about what issues are at hand, what the community is doing, and what solutions are in reach.

DGPL invites community members to join us at our kick-off event on October 2, with a free showing of The Public at the Tivoli Theater, and to join the library throughout the month to continue the discussion.
