A community-driven sing-a-long performance of Hamilton will be sponsored by the library in partnership with the Downers Grove Park District on August 4 at 2:00 p.m. at Fishel Park to celebrate the end of Summer Reading. Lyrics will be provided for audience members to join in the fun. Enjoy a picnic while you listen and sing to the hip-hopera, and be sure to stop by the library’s booth to see what’s coming up in the fall. The afternoon of show-stopping performances will finish with a drawing for two tickets to the Hamilton Exhibition in Chicago! Enter the raffle at the library in advance or at the show. Raffle winners do not have to be present to win. Don’t throw away your shot to see what the popular musical Hamilton is all about!
Join the show and sign up to perform! All performers are welcome; roles are open to all performers regardless of age, ethnicity, and gender. Performers can sign up in advance for song assignments and characters they would like to play. Apply by July 24 to be cast. Assignments will be announced on July 29th. Props will be provided for characters to use in their performance. Sign up at dglibrary.org/signup
