The Downers Grove Park District is pleased to announce the lineup for the 2019 Summer Concert Series. Presented by Dr. Christina Steil and Dr. Rachel Bognet of CSC Steil Dermatology, the 13-week concert series will bring live music to Fishel Park on Tuesday evenings from May 28 through August 20. The free, family-friendly concerts will be held at Veterans Memorial Pavilion in Fishel Park located at 1036 Grove St. (just west of Main Street) in Downers Grove. Concerts begin at 7 pm and food, beer and wine sales will begin at 6 pm.
In addition to an all-new lineup of local tribute and cover bands, a wide variety of rotating food vendors will be offered in 2019. This summer, visitors can purchase concessions from City Barbeque, Toasty Cheese, Sarpino’s Pizzeria, Fancy Fajita, Robinson’s Ribs, Wells Street Popcorn and Every Day’s a Sundae. Menus and featured vendors for each week are highlighted online at dgparks.org.
Adult beverages are available to visitors ages 21 and up for $6 (ID required) a ticket and water will be available for $2 a bottle. Beer options will include Stella Artois, Bell’s Oberon, Bell’s Two Hearted Ale and Alter Center Line. Wine and alcoholic coolers include Cabernet, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Reisling in addition to Pura Still Blackberry, Seagram’s Jamaican Me Happy and CiderBoys Peach Country.
Michelle Pusateri, Recreation Center Manager and Concert Series organizer, says that Fishel Park is the perfect place to spend a beautiful Tuesday evening. “The Summer Concert Series has become a summer tradition for the community of Downers Grove. We hope that visitors will enjoy the 2019 lineup and the variety of music genres to be featured this summer.”
